Wolverine will not be the HUNTSMAN

It looks like no male Hollywood actor will touch SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN with a bargepole after it was announced Hugh Jackman will not be playing the male lead role of the Huntsman.

The film which has already locked in Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen has received setback after setback in the last couple months. The role previously had a long list of top Hollywood actors including Johnny Depp but was originally offered to Viggo Mortensen but he turned it down and now, what looked to be a lock in with Jackman has bounced back. Jackman had previously been unavailable for the part due to THE WOLVERINE but after the project lost its director, Darren Aronofsky he became free again.

His rejection of the role of Huntsman could mean two things; firstly he doesn’t want the part or THE WOLVERINE is still aiming to start production at its original production date as Jackman is obsessively committed to the role. Fox has been meeting directors, one notable person being Duncan Jones (MOON, SOURCE CODE) which shows that they may still be aiming to fast track the film.

With two big time Hollywood Snow White adaptations coming out next year I’m sure we won’t miss this one if it got canned.

Paul finished is BA in Film & Broadcast Productions during the summer and has somehow landed the position of Media & Marketing Manager in the London Korean Film Festival happening this November (plug). While at University Paul found his speciality lay in Script Development, scriptwriting and Editing. He has written, edited and director a small number of not very good short films but does not let that dissuade him from powering through. After the Koreans are through with him he looks to enter the paid world of Script Development. He likes incredibly bad horror films, East Asian movies, comics and lots of other stuff.
