Sad news hits The Hollywood News desk this morning. Reports state that Academy-Award nominated filmmaker and photo journalist Tim Hetherington has been killed while working in Libya. Though not confirmed by the foreign office, multiple news agencies report that Hetherington was caught in a mortar attack near the city of Misrata.
Hetherington’s film RESTREPO, set in Afghanistan, was nominated for Best Documentary Feature at this year’s Oscars.
