According to the mighty trade paper Variety this morning, Universal are in the finals stages of negotiations to acquire Kyle Ward’s mysterious screenplay ARABIAN KNIGHTS. I am going to struggle to tell you what the thing is about as there are no details available, but we are told that it is very different from a similiarly named movie entitled ARABIAN NIGHTS – see the dropping of the letter ‘K’. That film stars Liam Hemsworth, and this one presumably won’t.
Anyway, Ward has a pretty good track record, and he wrote the upcoming video game adaptation on KANE AND LYNCH (which has been in the works for ages), and the sequel to HITMAN.
We’ll bring you details of this project as and when they become available.
