Coming to the web via the wonders of Facebook comes another character one-sheet poster for GREEN LANTERN. This time we get to see Temuera Morrison as Anin Sur in the film. Now, being a novice of all things GREEN LANTERN, much to the dismay of comic book THN geeks Tom Fordy and Joe Upton (and Mr. Paul Koren come to think of it), I had to look up (via WikiPedia) about said character. Here’s what I found out:
Abin Sur is a fictional character and a superhero from the DC Comics universe. He first appeared in Showcase #22 (September–October 1959): “SOS Green Lantern”. He was a member of the Green Lantern Corps and is best known as the predecessor of Green Lantern Hal Jordan, whom Abin Sur’s power ring chose as his replacement. In the Post-Infinite Crisis continuity, he was revealed to be a brother-in-law of Sinestro and uncle of his daughter, Soranik Natu.
