The Transporter TV show casts the new Frank Martin

Chris Vance in The Transporter

THE TRANSPORTER films are some of the most ridiculously entertaining flicks released over the past few years. They are also very successful. Wil three movies in the bag with Jason Statham assuming the role of driver Frank Martin, the guy who will literally transport anything to anywhere, no questions asked, the franchise is set to have a TV show spin-off, and now it looks like the makers have finally cast the lead role.

Chris Vance will star as Martin in the show, along with Andrea Osvart, all according to Deadline. Yes, Vance is British and has appeared in TV shows Dexter, Burn Notice and even Prison Break.

Entertainment Weekly caught up with Vance to discuss his new role.

“I’m on a fitness program at the moment. It’s more stamina work than anything, because we will be shooting for five months and that’s a long time to sustain all the physical activites that we’ve got on the show. The stunt guys that worked on the movies are coordinating all the stunts and the action sequences and everything for the series. They’re all very experienced. I’ll be working with them and whatever I can do, I’ll do.”

The show will air on Cinemax over in the US on an initial 12 episode run. No news as to who may pick it up here, but we’ll keep our ears to the floor to bring you news as and when. Shooting is expectewd to take around five months.
