Paramount Pictures are developing a new biopic after optioning the book “Furious Love: Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton and the Marriage of the Century,” which revolves around the famous Hollywood couple’s 15 year on off/ marriage.
The potential movie is being developed as a directing gig for Martin Scorsese, who is currently putting the finishing touches to HUGO CABRET.
Variety reports:
Taylor and Burton began their romance on the set of “Cleopatra” while both were married to other spouses at the time, triggering a massive wave of of press coverage that lasted for the next 15 years. After both divorced their respective spouses, they were married in 1964, divorced in 1974, remarried in 1975 and divorced again in 1976.
