Paul Greengrass set to make Somali pirates feature

As Captain Jack takes a critical hammering for his latest outing, a wholly more realistic pirate movie is set to hit the silver screen. According to Deadline, Paul Greengrass (THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM) is on board to direct a true-life story of Somali pirates. The film will be based on the experiences of Captain Richard Phillips, whose ship was hijacked in 2009. Phillips offered himself up as hostage to protect his crew before US Navy SEALS rescued him three days later. Tom Hanks (FORREST GUMP) is also allegedly tied to the project, no doubt in a leading role. The project, which is based on Captain Phillips’ memoirs, will be produced by Columbia Pictures.
