Variety are reporting that CON AIR director Simon West has signed on to direct THE EXPENDABLES II. Sylvester Stallone will be starring in the film, but won’t direct this time around, according to the trade.
Filming is set to kick off this summer on the film for a 2012 release. Joining Sly in the movie is Jason Statham with Jean-Claude Van Damme, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson, who are all rumoured to also co-star.
West also directed THE GENERAL’S DAUGHTER and this year’s THE MECHANIC, which also starred Statham.
Release date for THE EXPENDABLES II is set for August 17th, 2012.
