First set images from World War Z appear online

Brad Pitt is over in Malta at the moment filming the long in-development WORLD WAR Z. The film is one to look out for next year as Marc Forster, he who directed FINDING NEVERLAND and MONSTER’S BALL, is helming the flick, which is on the Max Brooks best-selling novel about a worldwide infestation of flesh-eating zombies.

It’s a mammoth movie that spans over ten years, and everything is based on fact… bar the Zombies, as Brooks says via WikiPedia: “Everything in World War Z (as in The Zombie Survival Guide) is based in reality… well, except the zombies. But seriously, everything else in the book is either taken from reality or 100% real. The technology, politics, economics, culture, military tactics… it was a LOT of homework.”

Now Max Brooks is the son Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft, which adds another element to the thing.

Anyway, today a bunch of set pics from the Valletta, Malta set were posted online via Coming Soon. They’re great and show Mr. Pitt on set in the same location where he filmed TROY all of those years ago.

The film is produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment, from a screenplay by Matthew Michael Carnahan.
