Anton Corbijn to film John Le Carre’s ‘A Most Wanted Man’

Anton Corbijn, the photographer turned superb filmmaker, has chosen his next project. Following directing success in CONTROL and THE AMERICAN, Corbijn will helm A MOST WANTED MAN, based on the John Le Carre novel of the same name.

Variety reports the news.

The story, according to the trade, follows a British banker who tries to help a young Muslim immigrant — the son of a Chechen peasant and a Russian officer — targeted by the U.S., British and German secret services after he is taken in by a Turkish family in Hamburg.

Got to admit, I loved CONTROL, but have heard mixed reviews about THE AMERICAN… but it’s going on the LoveFILM list as it’s one I missed last year.

Andrew Bovell, who wrote the American version of the BBC TV mini-series EDGE OF DARKNESS, is adapting A MOST WANTED MAN.
