The always brillant, Hong Sangsoo (OKI’S MOVIE), has a new project in the works, teaming up with Parisian actress, Isabelle Huppert, seen in some english language films including I HEART HUCKABEES as well as a myriad of French films (THE PIANO TEACHER, 8 WOMEN).
Huppert has mentioned on numerous occasions a desire to work with any of the great Korean filmmakers around on a visit to Korea eariler in the year. She has found her director in Hong Sangsoo, a filmmaker which has a special affinity with the French, spending a number of years in Paris and even making a couple of his films (NIGHT & DAY) in the city.
There is very little known about the production at this point with even Huppert only knowing;
“The only thing I know [about] the project is that we will turn in a small seaside town three hours from Seoul and there are five characters.”
The film also will star Hong Sangsoo regular Yu Jun-sang (HAHAHA, THE DAY HE ARRIVES). With the quick turnaround on Hong’s films (he released two films last year), this new project is looking to have a late 2011 Korean release and will most likely be out at next years Cannes Film Festival.
