Brad Furman signs on for Pablo Escobar project

The life of drug cartel leader Pablo Escobar is to arrive on the big screen, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, Brad Furman has signed on to direct. The announcement comes after much talk of an Escobar biopic, with such names as Oliver Stone (JFK) and Joe Carnahan (THE A-TEAM) proposing projects of their own. Furman’s most recent project was THE LINCOLN LAWYER, and this as-of-yet-untitled Escobar production will re-team him with the film’s producer Scott Steindorff.

Pablo Escobar was a notorious Columbian drug lord who rose to power in the 1970s. He was killed by a mystery assailant in 1993. Escobar was previously portrayed by Cliff Curtis in BLOW (2001).

Thanks you for the feedback. We do aim to be as factual as possible, but we do sometimes either not get all of the information, our source displays the wrong info or we simply do get it wrong. I’m not sure which applies in this case, but either way please use these pages without using abusive or rude behavior.

It’s ‘Colombian’ and ‘Medellin’!  If you’re going to criticize someone, you should ‘get your facts straight’ as well or you might look foolish too.
