Trailer for Arena with Samuel L. Jackson

Samuel L. Jackson (PULP FICTION, THE AVENGERS) is famous for leaping between blockbusters, credible indy flicks and cinematic oddities. So it’s no surprise to see him pop up in something so awful, it’s a wonder it even went straight to DVD. Then there’s ARENA.

Imagine a Playstation 1 game based on the TV show DEADLIEST WARRIOR, and you’ve got this. Kellan Lutz (TWILIGHT: BREAKING DAWN) plays a man taken prisoner and forced to fight in a piss poor computer generated virtual reality. Online viewers get to vote for who lives and who, indeed, dies. So far it sounds like a cross between RUNNING MAN and MY LITTLE EYE. What they didn’t have was Jackson chewing the scenery like he was breaking in his new dentures. Keep an eye out for Sam busting a move and the line, ‘I’LL SET CHA FREEEE!!’

He graduated with First Class Honours in Media Arts/Film & TV, a fact he will remain smug about long after everyone has stopped caring.
