Only hours after Laurence Fishburne was announced as the new Perry White, Warner Bors/Legendary Pictures have kept excitment levels sky high with this brand new image. Bird? Plane? No… it’s Henry Cavill decked out in the famous tights. Yes, Cavill is Superman, and as this image proves, he looks the part. But the Brit actor has his work cut out for him, and will need to do more than look sharp in a cape and boots if he is to succeed as Earth’s favourite Kryptonian. After the legendary performance from Christopher Reeve (also adopted by Brandon Routh in 2006’s underrated SUPERMAN RETURNS), Cavill will need to put his own stamp on the character, and hopefully re-establish the franchise for a new generation of cinemagoers. With Batman reboot genius Christopher N0lan producing, fanboys should be confident that the new Superman flick the meet expectations with a single bound.
MAN OF STEEL is directed by Zack Snyder, and co-stars Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Russell Crowe, and Michael Shannon. It arrives in cienmas summer 2013.
