Whenever I’ve seen a documentary about the porn industry it’s been quite depressing. Lots of disease (66% have genital herpes vs. 20% of the general population). Lots of drugs. More than a few suicides. Deaths from AIDS. There are a handful of stars like Ron Jeremy, Nina Hartley and Candida Royale that have been able to make lifelong careers in porn, but the vast majority are forgotten very quickly. It will be interesting to see if he’s as enthusiastic about the industry after he makes the doc as he is now.
