Open Road Films recently announced Joe Carnahan’s new ‘action-packed survival thriller’ THE GREY is due for release on 27th January 2012. In a statement to Deadline, they say the film is set to be about a group of unruly oil-rig roughnecks, who battle merciless weather when their plane crashes into the remote Alaskan wilderness. The survivors have only a few days to escape the icy elements, and a pack of vicious rogue wolves that are on the hunt, before their time runs out.
Carnahan, known for films like the great NARC and not so great A-TEAM, directs the latter’s Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper. The cast also includes James Badge Dale (World War Z) Joe Anderson (CONTROL) and Dermot Mulroney (STOKER).
