Further to the images posted here earlier from THE AVENGERS shoot, contributors to The SuperHeroHype Forum have released another batch of images from the Cleveland, Ohio set.
This time we see Captain America (Chris Evans), seemingly ready for action. Following on from the recently released movie, images of The Cap’ himself are not as spectacular as they may have been a year ago. However, the image beneath may prove more interesting… We can see a crew member handling what looks to be some kind of futuristic weaponary (perhaps of alien descent?), and also a cast member in a full-body outfit that suggests motion capture or some kind of computer trickery is being employed. Does this mean that Captain America’s as-of-yet unseen foes are entirely CG? And if so, what can we expect to see? Logic dictates that the villains will indeed be Marvel Comics’ notorious alien villains the Skrull, perhaps aligned with Norse trickster Loki (who we know for certain appears in the film) in an effort to conquer or eradicate Earth. However, at this stage it is little more than speculation, and we will have to wait some time before details for THE AVENGERS are assembled.
THE AVENGERS is directed by Joss Whedon and stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr, Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Hiddleston, Scarlet Johansson, Jeremy Remner, and Mark Ruffalo. It arrives in cinemas 4th May 2012.
