These Terrence Malick films are like buses – you wait ages for one to come along and then three turn up at once. And Batman’s driving the third one. No, wait… that’s not right…
Hot on the heels of THE TREE OF LIFE, and with shooting on another production already wrapped, Twitch is reporting that Terrence Malick has another film lined up, and that Christian Bale is on board as the lead. The untitled project is set to begin shooting early 2012, with Malick also considering a number of actresses to co-star, including Mia Wasikowska (ALICE IN WONDERLAND), Clemence Poesy (IN BRUGES), Haley Bennett (THE HOLE), and Rooney Mara (GIRL WITH DRAGON TATTOO). Plot details are sparse at present, as is customary for the BADLANDS director.
Malick’s next film is the already-filmed-but-also-unnamed romantic drama starring Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams, Javier Bardem, and Rachel Weisz. It is set for release sometime in 2012.
