Following on from his adaptation of Warren Ellis’ graphic novel RED, Robert Schwentke has added Mary-Louise Parker (WEEDS, RED) to the cast of R.I.P.D, which already includes Jeff Bridges (TRUE GRIT) and Ryan Reynolds (GREEN LANTERN).
Variety report that Parker will be playing Proctor, ‘a woman who has been involved with Jeff Bridges’ character Bo, and who is there to inform Reynolds’ character, police officer Nick Cruz, of his new status when Cruz realises that he’s now a zombie, after being killed on duty.’
The film involves the now zombified Cruz joining the ‘Rest in Peace Department,’ a team of zombie police officers who keep the undead in line. Filming is scheduled to start next month in Boston.
Based on the graphic novel by Peter Lenkov, R.I.P.D is due for release on 28th June 2013.
