Although there’s no current way to tell how Universal’s SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN will fare at this early stage, there is quite a decent ensemble cast gathering as production has begun at the mighty Pinewood Studios. In a twist on the tale, Snow White is taken to the forest to be killed by the Huntsman but by some – possibly – magical opportunity ends up protecting her and helps on her quest to crush the Evil Queen.
Kristen Stewart of TWILIGHT fame was eventually given the lead role as Snow White alongside Oscar-winning Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen. It’s also interesting to see Chris Hemsworth swapping THOR’s hammer for an axe, at least temporarily, before the much anticipated AVENGERS movie in 2012.
Rupert Sanders is directing and virtually unknown despite his ground-breaking visual work with Halo 3. We feel this film may have a lot more twists in its own tale before release but with Eddie Izzard, Nick Frost, Stephen Graham, Bob Hoskins and more signed up for the roles of Dwarves, this could be something very unique indeed.
