REAL STEEL helmer Shawn Levy is lining up his next project according to Deadline this evening. Levy, who has also knocked out the classics A NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM and CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN is looking to bring a new version of FRANKENSTEIN to the big screen. 20th Century Fox are backing the project, and apparently they want Levy to do the helming duties on the project, based on the Mary Shelley novel of the same name (of course).
There are no less than seven, yes, SEVEN (!) Frankenstein themed projects in the works at the moment, and if the studio gets its way Levy’s version will start shooting in the winter to get ahead of them all.
Guillermo del Toro, Matt Reeves and Timur Bekmambetov are among those with a version in the works.
