It looks like Ghost House Pictures are looking to revive one of their big franchises in the form of THE GRUDGE, which was itself based on the Japanese JU-ON franchise. Personally, I wasn’t a fan of the original movies, or indeed those other Japanese remakes like THE EYE and THE RING, but it has a huge fan base out there, hence the news.
According to Bloody Disgusting, the new film will be a reboot, and looking at the BD report, this will be the eighth film out there in the series, including some dodgy Japanese direct-to-dvd releases, but it is unclear as to whether the new film will hit cinemas or go via the entertainment route.
