Out on DVD and Blu-Ray today is the best film of 2011 (in my honest opinion) in THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS 5. If it is not the best film of 2011, then is certainly one of the most enjoyable. High-octane action, kick ass fight sequences, superb over the top chase scenes and The Rock! This film is balls to the wall brilliant.
Opening with an incredible high speed stunt sequence featuring a death defying drop from a bullet speed train, the pace is kept at full throttle throughout the entire film. Since being broken out of custody, Dom, together with Mia and Brian have been on the run from the law, eluding authorities and crossing borders until they find themselves backed into a corner in Rio. One last heist is their only ticket to freedom. This job needs the combined skills of an elite team of top drivers who form unlikely allies. Not only do they have Agent Hobbs to content with, but also one of the most corrupt and powerful Brazilian drug lords who will stop at nothing to see them eliminated. With everyone in power against them, the crew must smash their way through notorious drug dealers, crooked cops and anyone who dares get in their way. Ten years after the original The Fast and The Furious, this fifth film from the franchise brings even more stunts, chases and action resulting in an blockbuster hit which will have your heart racing 200mph and leave you clinging to the edge of your seat.
