Some more sad news following on from yesterday’s death of actor Cliff Robertson. Today it has been confirmed at comingsoon.net that SPARTACUS: BLOOD AND SAND Star Andy Whitfield has died from non-Hodgkin Lymphoma at the age of 39 .
Whitfield was due to reprise his role and begin filming the second season of the Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert produced hit for US network Starz when he was diagnosed with the the disease 18 months ago, prompting him the leave the show to undergo treatment.
His manager, Sam Maydew said Whitfield passed away at his home in Sydney, Australia in the “arms of his loving wife.”
