There’s nothing more annoying than when a great show gets cancelled. It happened with LUCKY LOUIE, it happened with ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT and more recently PARTY DOWN fell victim. It boils my blood when a show that straight away becomes your TV highlight disappears from our boxes, but every so often there is a saving grace.
Adam Scott, star of PARTY DOWN has mentioned in an interview focusing on his latest film ‘FRIENDS WITH KIDS’ that creators of the show have been seriously chewing the fat in regards to shooting a PARTY DOWN feature in the coming year.
Scott said, ‘We’re like 90% there, we’re hoping to do it maybe next summer, if everyone’s schedules work out and the guys get time to write a script,’ The show has always been a passion project and with the might of A-lister Paul Rudd working on the team, surely it’s just a matter of time before this rib-tickler has the opportunity split some sides on the big screen. ‘They have kind of a skeleton of a story worked out so we know where it’s going to go but we just have to kind of cross the t’s and dot the i’s, or something. But Starz are being super cool and they’re going to let us do it, and we’re all excited, we all want to do it.’
Usually my optimism for a TV to Film transition leaves a lot to be desired, but I live in hope that the film could deliver scenes as funny as the series did. Until the film’s release date there’s plenty more golden nuggets to checking out, Adam Scott currently has his fingers dipped in a few pies but perhaps the tastiest is the upcoming season of PARKS AND RECREATION which airs on the 22nd September 2011 over on NBC.
