The outrageous sitcom IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA will be back for a seventh season starting 15th September 2011 over on FX.
The new season is sure to promise more scandalous and ethically bereft storylines as well as a much, much fatter Rob McElhenney.
Rob McElhenney (star and creator of the show) has been piling on the pounds ready for the season debut. Rob gained the weight after he began to contemplate what was funny about his character in the show (Mac). Rob was tiring of the character and so for the sake of funny gained the figure transforming 50lbs.
IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY’S episodes are regularly based around the extreme lengths the characters will go to satisfy their own selfish desires. McElhenney ‘s dedication to his weight gain embodies the self -destructive remorselessness of his character and indeed the nature of the show.
Now that the new series has been shot and is ready to air, McElhenney is paying the price for the commitment to the bit. He’s working hard to lose the mass and allegedly hitting the gym pretty hard.
