Shooting On Epic Movie Adaptation Of Cloud Atlas Set To Start This Friday

We’ve just received word that shooting is set to commence on the massive movie adaptation of the novel CLOUD ATLAS this coming Friday, 16th September 2011. The film is to be co-directed by Andy and Lana Wachowski, helmers of THE MATRIX trilogy and PERFUME director Tom Tykwer.

Tom Hanks and Halle Berry will star in the film, alongside Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, Ben Whishaw, Keith David, Hugh Grant, Susan Sarandon, Chinese actress Zhou Xun, Doona Bae and David Gyasi. Wow!

CLOUD ATLAS is an epic story of humankind in which the actions and consequences of our lives impact one another throughout the past, present and future as one soul is shaped from a murderer into a savior and a single act of kindness ripples out for centuries to inspire a revolution.

The Wachowskis and Tykwer co-wrote CLOUD ATLAS, an adaptation of the celebrated best-selling novel by David Mitchell. The flick will shoot in two seperate, full units that will take place in Scotland, Spain and Germany.

Grant Hill and Stefan Arndt are producing, with Philip Lee and Uwe Schott serving as executive producers.
