Abrams Confirms He Will Direct Star Trek Sequel

Trekkie fans fear no more! LOST and ALIAS creator J.J. Abrams has confirmed he will return to direct the sequel to his 2009 reboot of the STAR TREK franchise. Word is the science-fiction movie has begun pre-prouction and will begin shooting at the end of the year.

The reboot’s writers Robert Orci and Alex Kurtzman (TRANSFORMERS) are returning to pen the script along with producer Damon Lindleof.

The sequel will also reunite with most of the cast with Kirk’s Chris Pine (UNSTOPPABLE) and Zachary Quinto (HEROES) as trusted sidekick Spock, sure to feature amongst most of the action aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise.
