Richard Ayoade, star of channel 4’s brilliant comedy series THE I.T. CROWD, has beaten off competition from Chris Tucker (yes that Chris Tucker who has not worked since 2007’s RUSH HOUR 3!) for a role in the sci-fi comedy NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH.
The British actor will play a character named ‘Jamarcus’ alongside Hollywood stars Vince Vaughn (COUPLES RETREAT), Ben Stiller (ZOOLANDER) and Jonah Hill (GET HIM TO THE GREEK). The plot will centre on a group of suburban fathers who form a local neighborhood watch to escape their mundane family lives. Strange things begin to happen when they uncover an alien plot to take over the world.
Ayoade seems to be following his I.T. CROWD co-star Chris O’Dowd across the pond after O’Dowd’s turn in this summer’s box-office hit comedy BRIDESMAIDS.
