2011 Primetime Emmy Award Winners!

The 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards took place last night from the Nokia Theatre live in Los Angeles, hosted by GLEE star and all-round funny woman Jane Lynch.

The event was a night of snubs and surprises: THE OFFICE alum Steve Carell lost out on his final chance to claim an Emmy for his role as Michael Scott, MAD MEN won Outstanding Drama Series for a fourth consecutive year yet failed to garner any acting accolades, and DOWNTON ABBEY brought on a British invasion after managing to secure four awards.

A highlight of the show came from the mind of PARKS AND RECREATION star Amy Poehler, who along with her fellow Lead Actress in a Comedy nominees, unexpectedly stormed the stage. At the announcement of their category, the comedy stars joined hands in a show of female solidarity and mock-pageantry, and literally crowned winner Melissa McCarthy with a tiara. “Wow, it’s my first and best pageant ever!” she cheered.
