Jason Bateman Signs Up For Indie Comedies

After starring in some of the summer’s high-profile releases — PAUL, HORRIBLE BOSSES, and current release THE CHANGE-UP — Jason Bateman is returning to indie comedies.

First up is the Peter Glanz penned THE LONGEST WEEK, in which Bateman’s character goes from mooching off his parents in a Manhattan hotel to disinherited and homeless within a single week. Olivia Wilde (IN TIME) will co-star as his love interest.

DISCONNECT stars an ensemble cast who are affected, and in some cases destroyed, by the Internet and other forms of modern communication. Alexander Skarsgard (TRUE BLOOD), Andrea Riseborough (MADE IN DAGENHAM), Colin Ford (WE BOUGHT A ZOO) and Michael Nyqvist (THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO) are all confirmed to appear. Bateman will play Ford’s father.

The actor will film to two comedies back-t0-back throughout October and November this year, and then hopefully get straight to work on that ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT movie… Still waiting for that official announcement.
