Sleepless Night For Hollywood Remake

Described as “DIE HARD, in a nightclub, crossed with TAKEN”, French thriller SLEEPLESS NIGHT is to be given the Hollywood treatment.

When a police officer steals a large amount of cocaine from a powerful druglord, his son is kidnapped in retribution. Wounded and avoiding arrest, the officer must infiltrate the drug dealer’s nightclub and rescue his son before the night ends.

Screened at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Drew McWeeny of HitFix introduced the film and joked SLEEPLESS NIGHT would be remade before the credits rolled. Little did he know Warner Bros. would plan exactly that and began setting wheels into motion during the screening. Roy Lee (THE DEPARTED) is set to produce the English-language version and will work alongside original producers Lauranne Bourrachot and Marco Cherqui.
