Though the thought of Ridley Scott returning to the beloved BLADE RUNNER may have filled some fans with absolute dread, there may be unicorn-shaped light at the end of the tunnel.
Reports have surfaced hinting that Scott Burns – writer of CONTAGION and THE INFORMANT! – is the top choice to write the film.
If the rumours are to be believed, Burns with replace original BLADE RUNNER screenwriters Hampton Fancher and David Webb Peoples. There are still no certain plot details on Scott’s belated follow-up, whether it be sequel, prequel, or remake. What is sure, however, is that Burns is a sound writer with an impressive CV to date, which could bode very well for the questionable project.
