THN at The Lion King 3D premiere

Earlier today THN popped along to THE LION KING 3D premiere at London’s IMAX cinema.  Yes that’s right Disney have been hard at work adding an extra dimension to this much loved cartoon classic.   Despite the recent downward turn of 3D’s box office sales we recon this is one film that will play well in the otherwise gimmicky format;  the re-released title has already topped the box office stateside. Just imagine Pride Rock looming out of the screen, being amongst stampeding wildebeest and top it off with the Scar and Simba’s pouncing through the air in a fiery battlefield  –  Definitely worth a watch.

Ever ready to get the latest gossip THN was hoping to get up close and personal with the films cast and celebs – but apparently it’s quite hard to get them out on a Sunday morning. BGT’s Ronan Parke was in attendance and may we say what an adorable young man he is too. The stunning Mylene Klass blew us away with her flawless smile.  Cream of the crop though had to be Katie Price – although she kept us all waiting arriving late for the screening and so bypassed the press all together – we were barely able to get a shot off…oh well  hakuna matata.

The LION KING 3D is in cinemas now – suitable for children of all ages!

A BA in Media & an Art MA doesn’t get you much in today’s world – what it does give you however is a butt-load of time to watch a heck of a lot of movies and engage in extensive (if not pointless) cinematic chitter chatter. Movies and pop-culture have always been at the forefront of Joe’s interest who has been writing for THN since 2009. With self-aggrandised areas of expertise including 1970s New Hollywood, The Coen Brothers, Sci-Fi and Adam Sandler, Joe’s voyeuristic habits rebound between Cinematic Classics and Hollywood ephemera, a potent mix at once impressively comprehensive and shamelessly low-brow.
