Bond Cancels Filming In India

Do not panic 007 fans the latest as-yet-untitled James Bond feature has not ran into more production trouble. It has been announced shooting that was scheduled to take place in India has instead been changed to South Africa. Long delays on securing filming permission has been the cause for the location changes, with the planned back-up choice of South Africa being finally decided upon.

Daniel Craig is due to begin filming his third outing as Ian Fleming’s suave MI6 spy in November at Pinewood Studios. Production has ran into many problems with the uncertainty surrounding MGM studios causing the 23rd 007 picture to grind to a halt last year.

Brit director Sam Mendes (ROAD TO PERDITION) is helming this latest movie with a cast that includes Ralph Fiennes (SCHINDLER’S  LIST), Javier Bardem (NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN) and Judi Dench (CASINO ROYALE, QUANTUM OF SOLACE) returning as M. A release date of 26th of October 2012 is expected.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
