Pitt In Demand After Liman’s Latest Paramount Project Is Grounded

Brad Pitt is riding high at the moment with the success of his new movie MONEYBALL doing great business Stateside. News today has seen the TROY star, currently filming the zombie-apocalyptic epic WORLD WAR Z, being considered for another project at Warner Bros.

Director Doug Liman (THE BOURNE IDENTITY) has seen his next film LUNA, a science-fiction heist film which he was due to helm for Paramount, cancelled due to budgetary concerns. This has prompted Warner Bros. to move Liman’s next slated project ALL YOU NEED IS KILL up the pecking order, and hopes Pitt will take the lead.

The movie will be based on the manga-comic by Hiroshi Sakurazaka that sees an army recruit killed on his first day of action after an alien invasion, only to see himself resurrected to live that day over and over again.

The film sounds like an intriguing mash-up of ROBOCOP, SOURCE CODE and INDEPENDENCE DAY and with the combined talents of both Pitt and Liman they could produce a epic sci-fi mega-hit.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
