A reported change of casting has taken place on director Zack (300, WATCHMEN) Snyder’s MAN OF STEEL. Julia Ormand (THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON) was due to take the role of a young Kal-El’s Kryptonian birth mother Lara, opposite Russell Crowe’s (GLADIATOR) Jor-El. Ayelet Zurer (ANGELS & DEMONS, VANTAGE POINT) has now taken over the role vacated by Ormond.
Filming on the Superman reboot is currently under way with an all-star cast that includes Henry Cavill (IMMORTALS), Amy Adams (THE FIGHTER), Kevin Costner (JFK), Michael Shannon (WORLD TRADE CENTRE) and Diane Lane (UNFAITHFUL). MAN OF STEEL is due for release in the summer of 2013.
