There’s a definite murmuring of intrigue and anticipation rising within THN for Ridley Scott’s secretive PROMETHEUS. Although we still don’t have any specific mentions of aliens, there has been this synopsis updated on their official Facebook page:
Ridley Scott, director of Alien and Blade Runner, returns to the genre he helped define. With Prometheus, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.
Although we did expect certain aspects from the previous world he created, this could well delve further into the whole creation that has plenty of room to explore. We already have a small morsel from Ridley Scott after Comic Con, when a video clip suggested the characters find something that isn’t quite what they expected. So, it’s almost inevitable that we’re all going to be put into a civilisation that’s clearly uncivilised.
Exciting times and with all the confidentiality surrounding this film, we’re very hopeful for a whole new generation of interest.
PROMETHEUS is due in UK Cinemas on June 1st 2012 and stars Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Guy Pearce, Ben Foster and Logan Marshall-Green.
