Everyone’s favourite pixie-haired talk show hostess has been confirmed as next year’s Oscar host. It will be the second time for the Cover Girl model as she hosted back in 2007. In her stumbling and intentionally awkward monologue from the 2007 Academy Awards she shared that it has always been a dream of hers to host the Oscars and it looks like the dream will be coming true a second time. DeGeneres broke the news herself on twitter:
It’s official: I’m hosting the #Oscars! I’d like to thank @TheAcademy, my wife Portia and, oh dear, there goes the orchestra.

A new president was elected for the The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science this week when marketing executive Cheryl Boone Isaacs got a promotion. One of her first decisions as president was on who would follow Seth McFarlane in hosting duties.
