Last week, news broke that Kevin Costner had dropped out of the writer-director Quentin Tarantino film DJANGO UNCHAINED. It now appears the role of ‘Ace Woody’ has been filled by non other than Snake Pliskin himself, Kurt Russell.
Kurt Russell previously worked with Tarantino as ‘Stuntman Mike’ on DEATH PROOF. It was originally released Stateside as an experimental double-bill project alongside Robert Rodriguez’ PLANET TERROR. After GRINDHOUSE bombed at the US box-office, it was decided that the movies would eventually be released in the UK separately.
DJANGO UNCHAINED will star Jamie Foxx (RAY) as a freed slave turned bounty hunter alongside Christoph Waltz (INGLORIOUS BASTERDS), Leonardo DiCaprio (SHUTTER ISLAND), Samuel L. Jackson (PULP FICTION) and Dennis Christopher (DEADWOOD).

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
