What is it that makes a movie bad?
Hokum plotting? Wooden acting? Laughable dialogue? Rubbish monsters?
And just what is it that makes a bad movie good?
All of the above, obviously.
No matter how sophisticated we consider our taste in cinema, there’s no doubt that we all love a movie to cringe and laugh along with. From rubber trolls to a Ducks called Howard, these notoriously awful moments live on in the annals of cinema history, accruing ill-deserved cult status. And that’s exactly what London’s most beloved independent cinema, The Prince Charles, has been celebrating with its GOOD BAD MOVIE CLUB, described as: ‘A season dedicated to those guilty-pleasure good-bad movies that despite their obvious flaws still make us all warm and fuzzy inside.’
The season has previously seen the brilliantly-awful KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE, THE GARBAGE PAIL KIDS MOVIE, and MAC & ME, and MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE, and this Tuesday the GOOD BAD MOVIE CLUB returns for an all-new line-up!
This time around the good folk down at the Prince Charles have teamed with VivaVHS to bring you the VIVA-VHS SWAPSHOP! Hosted by VivaVHS’ Dale Llyod, the event begins at 7.30pm before each screening and gives fans a chance to swap tapes, offer recommendations, or similarly just meet like-minded lovers of old school videos.
Tickets for each film cost £10 for non-members, £6 for members or –
