Sometimes the word epic can be over-used in modern culture but we’re expecting Spielberg’s WAR HORSE to be a tale that really encapsulates the true meaning of the word. Based on the successful novel by Michael Morpurgo, this big screen adaptation has been taken on by the master of story and from this trailer, it looks like it’s going to have everything in this World War One-based narrative.
WAR HORSE tells the story of a young lad named Albert and his horse Joey, who Albert tames and then trains. Joey is sold to help war effort and shortly afterwards Albert’s life changes even further as he’s sent to the front line. The book takes us through the extraordinary experiences of the horse through the Great War and we’re expecting that to still be a strong focus with a good balance.
It stars Emily Watson, David Thewlis, Benedict Cumberbatch, Toby Kebbell and Jeremy Irvine and is for due for release on December 28th 2011.
