Olivia Wilde In For Ron Howard’s Rush, Will Crowe Cameo Also?

Hot on the heels of blockbusters TRON: LEGACY and COWBOYS & ALIENS, Olivia Wilde looks to have landed the role of 70’s supermodel Suzy Miller in Ron Howard’s (THE DAVINCI CODE) new Formula One biopic RUSH.

The film’s focus will be on the intense rivalry between drivers Niki Lauda played by Daniel Bruhl (INGLORIOUS BASTERDS) and James Hunt, who will be portrayed by Chris Hemsworth (THOR).

Director Ron Howard also wants to convince his A BEAUTIFUL MIND star Russell Crowe to feature in a cameo as movie legend Richard Burton. Burton was a close friend of driver James Hunt who at the time was married to Miller, but eventually fell in love and married the supermodel. This soured their friendship leading to a much publicised and messy divorce where Burton famously paid Hunt $ 1 million in a settlement.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
