een spreading like wild fire that THE SIMPSONS may face cancellation after a dispute with actors over their refusal to take a 25% pay cut.
It’s still all up in the air as to whether or not the show will cease airing after its 23rd season but FOX fat cats have allegedly hissed after actors offered to take a 30% pay cut in return for a small percentage of merchandising profits.
There’s no doubt that THE SIMPSONS has past its prime and some viewers might argue the story arcs are becoming increasingly less enjoyable and original. It would be a shame to see the show end, but 23 years on the air isn’t bad going at all. Although I don’t want the show to vanish from our screens I am pretty eager to own every season on DVD and if the cartoon does get the axe at least I’ll be one step closer to buying a nice collectors edition.
