Matt Reeves To Helm Twilight Zone Feature

CLOVERFIELD and LET ME IN director Matt Reeves is expected to sign a deal to direct THE TWILIGHT ZONE. The series, created by Rod Serling, ran from 1959 to 1964 and was resurrected in 1985 to 1989 and again in 2002 for another season. 1983 saw the classic show attempt an all-star cast movie version on the big-screen.  The film featured the directing talents of the likes of Steven Spielberg, Joe Dante, John Landis and George Miller telling four separate science fiction themed stories.

Reeves will direct the movie for Warner Bros. but unlike the 1983 film, the studio will focus on one single plot that will fit into THE TWILIGHT ZONE’s science fiction world. This new feature will no doubt make use of the unmistakable iconic theme tune to full effect. Leonardo DiCaprio’s production company Appian Way will produce the picture.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.

I was pulling for JJ Abrams. He would be perfect.
