So it turns out it’s not just Slovakians who like to mame, torture and murder. Who knew, right? The ‘most terrifying franchise’ — their words, not mine — is coming to Las Vegas and straight-to-DVD in the form of HOSTEL PART III. In this Scott Spiegel directed sequel, whose previous credits include FROM DUSK TIL DAWN 2, four friends are lured away from a bachelor party by two sexy escorts and… horrifying torture ensues.
In the trailer we’re introduced to the Elite Hunting Club in the USA: a wealthy, voyeuristic ensemble who bet on the outcomes of torture. You know the sort. Technically they’re the villains of the piece but we all know fans aren’t rooting for — or expecting — these 2D characters to come out alive. This direct-to-DVD sequel certainly won’t draw in any new audiences but it’s exactly what original HOSTEL fans want. We’ve got strippers, gambling, heavy drinking, acid drinking, power tools, crossbows, an attractive blonde about to eat cockroaches… and if you aren’t into any of that, why did you even read this article?
