Only a few days after announcing that 1988 Manga cult fav AKIRA had been given the go ahead for a live-action remake, news has broke that Warner Bros. are already in talks with a number of actors.
Rumours were already rife that UNKNOWN director Jaume Collet-Sera had been given the gig and TRON: LEGACY star Garrett Hedlund was favourite to land to role of Kaneda and that now appears to be the case with talks now underway. More significantly is the news that Gary Oldman and Helana Bonham Carter have been offered roles and are currently in talks to feature as the prominent characters of Colonel and Lady Miyako.
