Upcoming JUDGE DREDD star Karl Urban and THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA actor Ben Barnes have been confirmed to take the leads in a new French action-thriller entitled OVERDRIVE. The two will feature as a pair of criminal brothers who specialise in car thieving until their activities get them into serious trouble when they encounter a local crime kingpin.
The project was originally expected to be a starring vechicle for Alex Pettyfer (I AM NUMBER FOUR) and Matthew Goode (WATCHMEN). The film will be directed by Antonio Negret, who recently wrapped the Jim Caviezel thriller TRANSIT, and is written by WANTED and 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS’ Michael Brandt and Derek Haas.
GAME OF THRONES actress Emilia Clarke is also currently in talks to feature as the female lead and obvious love interest in the film that will be produced by TAKEN director PIERRE MOREL. Shooting is scheduled to begin in Marseilles at the end of the month.
