Robert De Niro and John Travolta are set to begin shooting on action-thriller KILLING SEASON next month for Millenium Films and Corsan Pictures.The movie is being directed by DAREDEVIL and GHOST RIDER’s Mark Steven Johnson.
The plot will follow an ex-military man living in a remote cabin on the Appalachian Mountains who forms a friendly relationship with a visiting European stranger. Unbeknown to the former veteran, the man is a ex-Serbian soldier with a grudge and is determined to get revenge for a past event. A cat and mouse chase ensues across the rough mountainous terrain.
The film has also released a teaser poster that looks impressive enough to whet fans appetite for the match up of the two Hollywood big-hitters going head to head which you can see below. The film’s plot does appear to share similarities with Willam Friedkin’s THE HUNTED, as well as Sylvester Stallone’s first outing as John Rambo, FIRST BLOOD. Let hope Johnson can can bring something fresh to this well-worn genre.
