Stills From Titanic 3D!

Never one to shy away from bombarding our cinema screens with visual nonsense, James Cameron is to unleash TITANIC 3D on us next year, to co-inside with the 100th anniversary of the real ship.

Though the biggest boxoffice draw ever, 1997’s TITANIC is, let’s be fair, a load of guff and waffle. But audiences lapped it up on original release, and undoubtedly they will again. It’s heart will go on, so to speak.

As the leading pioneer of 3D trickery, it’s safe to assume that cameron will have done a top-notch job on updating the film’s visuals. So here’s hoping it looks better than other retro-fitted 3D efforts.

Just to get you in the mood, here’s a couple of stills. Suspiciously in 2D.

TITANIC 3D sets sail April 2012, and stars (as if you didn’t know) Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, and Billy Zane.
